Fiberglass Chemical Tanks
Tanks are large containers which are used to hold several chemicals or other liquids for various uses like irrigation, fire suppression, drinking water supply, chemical manufacturing or even food preparation. These tanks are made up of different materials each useful for a different reason from the other.
The most common types of tanks are:
- Fibreglass
- Steel Tanks or Aquaplate Tanks
- Plastic or Polyethylene
- Concrete
What are chemical tanks?
Chemical tanks are basically storage vessels for chemicals. They come in a wide range of sizes and shapes and are used for storage, processing and mixing of both raw and final chemical products.
At Fibre glass tanks, we specialise in the supply of excellent quality chemical tanks. Each tank is designed, drafted and manufactured separately so it meets the required Australian standards. They are also subject to strict testing procedures at various stages in the manufacture process. This is to ensure, all our tanks are of high quality and our customers get their preferences as outlined.
Chemical tanks usually come in three different types and these are
- Low Profile Range
- High Profile Range
- Tapered Base Range
Each of the above tanks are produced using the highest quality of Vinyl ester resin and are primarily used for industrial submissions and water treatment plants.
We have an experienced set of individuals who understand the potential risks regarding storing volatile liquids in the tanks. For this reason, we work together with each of our clients to meet your exact requirements.
While the chemicals are being stored, there are a few factors to keep in mind, including the following:
- The type of chemical being stored.
- Its chemical makeup.
- The chemical’s liquid specific gravity.
- The chemical’s pH levels.
- It’s high and low operating temperatures ( important in order for the chemical to remain stable while being stored)
- Does the chemical come with a dangerous goods rating?
- The environment where the chemical will be installed
- Extra environmental hazards ( water, wind, sunlight, in case the chemical reacts with these factors)
It is important to keep the above factors in mind before storing the chemicals in the tanks to prevent any sudden accidents or faults whilst transporting them between different locations. It is better to know all the risks beforehand and be prepared rather than be faced with a problem later on.
How are chemical tanks manufactured?
Chemical tanks are usually moulded into one piece using a plastic mould called rotational moulding. A range of materials which have high resistant to harsh chemicals are used. The tank’s walls are modified according to what it will be used to store. We are experts in combing different materials to get excellent results.
